ABOUT ME

"Who am I ? I am a person who, in life, has been lucky enough to be able to make his greatest passion his job, music. "

He started playing the electric bass guitar at the age of 13, after first learning to play the piano for 3 years. Under the guidance of private teachers, in a short time he undertook the path of studies that led him to meet Piero Orsini and, later, Riccardo Fioravanti; who introduced him to the world of jazz. At the same time, he took private lessons of harmony, orchestration and jazz arrangement, with M. Filippo Daccò. In 2005 he studied for two years at CEMM, in Bussero, with Michelangelo Flammia. This is where he deepened his knowledge of the Afro-American language, through different subjects: technique, theory, harmony and ear training, together with an arrangement course, held by M. Giovanni Tommaso.

In 2009 he participated in the summer seminars of Fara Jazz, and took instrument lessons with Dario Deidda and Ares Tavolazzi. In the same year, during a short period in New York, he undertook an intensive course at The Collective School of music, which gave him the opportunity to refine his technical and stylistic knowledge, thanks to teachers like: Lincoln Goines, Irio O'Farrill, Frank Gravis, Hill Green, and Steve Marks. In 2013 he was lucky to meet and take private lessons with one of the bassists who has marked his musical language, Gary Willis, with whom he improved his skills in improvisation.

From 2015 to 2018 he undertook a course of study at the Accademia del Suono, in Milan, obtaining a BTEC diploma in Jazz music. Within the course, in addition to his instrument, he had the opportunity to study many complementary subjects such as: piano, ear training, orchestration, arrangement, ensemble music, recording studio, music history, computer music, and music business. These studies allowed him to enrich his musical background.

In the music business, with his 15 years of experience, he has worked in various live projects, in recording studios, in resident bands (in Italy and abroad). He has had the fortune of playing with many great musicians and artists, like: Matt Bianco, Leonard Johnshon (Kool & the Gang), Eugenio Finardi, Annalisa Minetti, Andrea Mingardi, Ottavio De Stefano (Amici 11), Philip Hamilton, Umberto Smaila, Giuliano Rassu (X Factor). Each project has given him the opportunity to play across different musical genres, from Pop/Rock, Funk, Soul, Gospel to Jazz.

Since 2017 he has been a part of the Brotherhood gospel choir, with which he has performed at the Novara Gospel Festival, and accompanied artists such as: Collin Vassell, Michelle John (The Voice UK), Michael Stuckey, Carla Jane.

He is currently working with Michele Tomatis, a chameleon-like showman, who offers a unique and exclusive show, that he loves to define as a "one-man musical", which takes him on tour to some of the best city squares, parties and theatres throughout Italy.

He is a member of a Swiss jazz/fusion project called Final Step, with which he performed with in 2019, at the Bad Homburg Jazz Festival, in Germany (for the first time). The project has four albums under its belt, and a fifth one recorded in August 2020; which will be released before the end of the year.

He is part of Re:Funk, another Swiss project, made up of 10 elements, with which he recorded the last EP "24th/7", released in December 2019. This band has one album and another EP to its credit, as well as the participation in many important festivals (Montreaux Jazz festival, Estival Jazz, Porretta Jazz festival, Ascona Jazz festival).
